Every faculty and staff member plays a vital role in the continued success of the University of California, Berkeley. Together, we will plan for the future in our approach to administration and adopt administrative practices that best support our mission of teaching, research, and public service. We will nurture a campus culture that honors both individuals and community, and balances diverse perspectives with common goals in a spirit of civility and mutual respect. Through shared stewardship of the University's many resources, we will strengthen administrative partnerships across the campus; promote, support and reward administrative excellence; and enhance our pre-eminent position among the world's institutions of higher education.
