NEW PAYROLL CHECK MAILING PROCESS EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2012
Central Payroll will begin mailing paper payroll checks with the June 1st pay date. Paper Payroll checks (excluding termination and rush checks) will be mailed one US Postal Service day prior to each payday.
This new procedure will affect:
-
Employees that are signed up to receive a paper check
-
New hire employees that sign up for direct deposit but due to processing delays, the first earnings payment is in the form of a paper check
-
Any employee that cancels direct deposit or changes their direct deposit account and a paper check is produced
This change will require that your home address is accurate. Please verify or update your home address via the At Your Service website by May 22, 2012. If you do not have access to a computer, please visit your local human resource department and an HR administrator should be able to verify and update this information on your behalf.
If you are expecting a payroll check and do not receive it in the mail on payday, we ask that you wait until the following business day to complete and submit a check reissue form. Detailed instructions on how to submit a check reissue request may be found on the UC Berkeley Payroll website. Central Payroll will process the check reissue request within 3-5 business days.
In order to receive your pay without potential delay, Payroll encourages you to sign up for direct deposit or the ADP TotalPay card online or at the Central Payroll office.
