Access Requirements

Only UC Berkeley faculty and staff can access Connexxus and Direct Bill. Most employees with travel related jobs (travelers, administrators) have already been uploaded and any new employees with these Academic and Job Titles will be added automatically.

If you are denied access, your department travel administrator or department manager can sign up new users (using the Direct Bill site), but new users must:

  • be listed as a UC Berkeley employee (non-employees can have travel booked for them as guest travelers);
  • set up a valid CalNet ID;
  • have a Berkeley directory listing that must include an email address and an office phone number

Please allow 48 hours for the system to build a valid profile.

The Connexxus profile is built with information from the Berkeley directory listing. Travelers should use this directory to update their last names to match their travel documents (passport for international travel/driver's license for domestic flights) so as to avoid security issues with TSA. First and middle names, or middle initials, can be updated or adjusted within the Connexxus profile itself.

To confirm whether or not someone else has access, use Connexxus "My Profile" to search for an employee as a "Travel Arranger". If you can find them within Connexxus, they already have full access to all the travel tools.

Access problems should be reported to Connexxus@berkeley.edu
