Card Program Update - March 2020

UC Berkeley Cardholders, Reconcilers and Approvers:

As you may be aware, all of UC Berkeley's bluCards are currently scheduled to expire on April 30th.  The Card Program has been working with US Bank to resolve this issue with a minimum of disruption to ongoing business, and we are pleased to announce that our replacement bluCards have begun to arrive at UC Berkeley's Mail Services sorting facility and that several departments have been able to work with Mail Services to pick up and activate their replacement cards.  Due to the Shelter in Place order, Mail Services, like all campus units, is operating in a limited capacity and does not have the capacity to search through our incoming mail to find your specific card; however, they will sort mail by your building/department and allow you access to pick up that mail.  Departments who pick cards up directly from Mail Services can then determine the best method to distribute the cards to their cardholders.

Specific information for bluCard holders:

bluCard holders with a currently existing off-campus address on file with US Bank:

Your card should arrive by the end of the month as normal.  If you are in a remote address and haven't received your card by March 30th, email us at creditcard@berkeley.edu and we'll look into where your card is at in the replacement process.

bluCard holders not currently using their cards during Shelter in Place:

If you aren't using your card right now and don't anticipate needing it, you don't need to take any action at all; your card will be held with other mail for your unit and you can pick it up and activate it after the Shelter in Place order is ended.

bluCard holders with unique situations:

If for some reason your department cannot pick your card up from Mail Services, please contact us at creditcard@berkeley.edu to make alternate arrangements.
