Uniform Guidance

The Office of Management and Budget's (OMB) Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (commonly called "Uniform Guidance") became effective for new and continuation awards issued on or after December 26, 2014. The Uniform Guidance streamlines and consolidates government requirements for receiving and using federal awards, and supersedes guidance from earlier OMB circulars.

2 CFR § 200: Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance)

Federal awarding agencies adopted revisions to 2 CFR 200 and Agency Implementation Statements provide specific details on how participating agencies implemented the revised Research Terms and Conditions (RTCs). In accordance with this requirement, the updated RTCs, which implement the changes to 2 CFR 200, became effective November 12, 2020. This includes all supplemental appendices (Appendix A: Prior Approval Matrix, Appendix B: Subaward Requirements, and Appendix C: National Policy Requirements).
