BFS Update - November 2023

Overview

The BFS team will make updates to the Berkeley Financial System (BFS) in order to stay up-to-date with Oracle PeopleSoft releases. The update will make the software current, improve security, and ensure that Oracle supports the BFS. It will also include some changes to the BFS user interface.

The November update is scheduled to take place Saturday, November 4, 2023, to Sunday, November 5, 2023.

There will also be scheduled system maintenance taking place on Friday, October 27, 2023.

New BFS URL

You will also need to update your bookmarks.

Some old BFS URLs have been discontinued as part of this update and will not work.

Other Updates

The Global search bar currently collapses when navigating to a content or transaction page. The update will enable users to click on it and expand the bar to the regular default view.

There will be new options on the top left side of the menu, including a clock indicating recently visited pages and a heart that will show favorited pages.

The home button logo will be changed from a house to a pentagon shape.

The default search phrases are changing. The new default will be 'Find an Existing Value'. This is combined with the keyword search option. There will be a button option to choose 'Add a New Value' page.

The 'Find an Existing Value' search will default to a keyword search bar, with the option to click a button and have the standard search appear with the regular fields available.

The updates will enable users to save commonly used searches or re-run the last five searches made.

New stylesheet will change the general look and feel of the home page and content pages, including color changes.

UAT

User Acceptance Testing (UAT) will be done between October 12, 2023 and October 23, 2023. Interface partners and business users are expected to participate in this testing cycle.
